PROBLEM

Excellent clinic, invisible online

For “zubař Praha” and English queries like “dentist Prague” the clinic sat on page 3 — behind aggregators and chains. The site loaded 9 seconds on mobile, had no English version despite 30% expat patients, and reviews accumulated on their own: 4.1 with old complaints on top.

Page 3 for the money cluster — effectively invisible;
No English version with 30% of patients being expats;
9-second mobile load, booking only by phone;
Google Business unmanaged: wrong hours, stale photos, 4.1 rating.

“We thought reputation lived offline. Turns out patients check Google first — now they find us at the top, read real reviews and book online. We hired a seventh doctor.”

Does local SEO like this work for a solo practice, not just a multi-doctor clinic?
The mechanics are the same regardless of size: service-by-district landing pages, LocalBusiness schema, NAP consistency across 40+ directories, and a structured post-visit review-request flow. This clinic had 6 doctors, but the local-pack signals Google weighs apply the same way to a single-doctor practice.
How do you measure whether local SEO is actually working?
By rankings, bookings and review signals together, not just traffic: local keywords in the top 3 went from 2 to 38, online bookings rose 140% (46 to 110 a month), and Google Business profile actions grew from about 90 to 520 a month as the listing became fully managed.
What was the biggest obstacle — rankings or the review score?
The review score, because it can't be rushed: the clinic's 4.1 rating carried old complaints at the top, so we seeded a consistent post-visit SMS review-request flow rather than chasing new reviews ad hoc. The rating rose to 4.9 alongside the ranking and booking gains, not separately from them.
Does this include an English-language version, or just the local-language site?
Both by default for markets with expat or international patients: this clinic had 30% expat patients but no English site, so the rebuild launched Czech and English in parallel, with service, doctor and pricing pages duplicated in both languages rather than English bolted on later.
